Aimed at young customers as the ‘Y’ tag in its name signifies, the Samsung Galaxy Y Duos comes incorporated with a 3.1-inch QVGA 240 x 320p TFT LCD touchscreen. Potential users can click pictures with the embedded 3MP primary camera and make use of the various preloaded apps such as the Android Market, Gmail, YouTube, Google Maps and Google Calendar.
JK Shin, President of IT and Mobile Communications Division at Samsung Electronics, cited, “With the tremendous success of the Dual SIM feature phones, we are now very pleased to be introducing the first Dual SIM smartphones powered by Android. We have been actively exploring this market and are well aware of the need for Dual SIM smartphones. With the Galaxy Duos and the Galaxy Y Pro Duos, Samsung will be offering more choices for all consumers.”
Samsung Galaxy Y Duos and Samsung Galaxy Y Pro Duos are set to be available in Russia from January 2012. While the former will be rolled out in Europe, CIS, Latin America, China, Middle East, Africa and Southeast and Southwest Asia, the latter is scheduled to retail in Europe, CIS, Latin America, Africa, Southwest Asia and Middle East next year. The exact release date and price for the pair are still under wraps for now.
